Gots To Have My Stories

From the desk of Pete:  Summer is normally the time when people leave their houses to enjoy lovely beaches, wonderful parks, good baseball teams (South Side), and bad baseball teams (North Side).

I, on the other hand, am an avid indoorsman and still rely on TV to entertain me during these dog days. Unforunately, with the glut of reality programming clogging up the schedule, you may find it challenging to find quality scripted television programs to keep you inside and in front of the TV.

Luckily, I have provided you with a handy document that you can consult if you are having difficulty finding something to watch and are at risk of stepping out into the heat. Please print and place on your refrigerator for easy access. Plus, that drawing your kid made at school is old and it sucks anyway.

Steve should sport Jay-Z's Cans

Who better to come out with a line of headphones than Jay-Z.  According to a link on perezhilton.com, Jay-Z says….

"Our passion is creating amazing music. We're dedicated to delivering the best in live performances and now with the Roc Nation / Skullcandy partnership, we're offering the best way for people to experience the soundtrack of their lives."

Maybe Steve should revisit some of Jay-Z’s tracks while wearing a pair of Jay-Z’s new headphone line.

Pour Some Sugar on Pete

If you’ve been following the recent DahlCast’s you are familiar with Pete and his incredible amount sugar consumption. Up until now, Pete has been purchasing a 4 lb sack of sugar at the local Roger’s Park SuperMercado. Listener AJ from Bartlett sent me a note today suggesting Pete head over to Costco instead. AJ snapped this photo of a 50 lb back of sugar for $22.  At Pete’s 2 lb per week rate that 50 lb sack will last him 25 weeks at less than $1 per week!

That is a ‘sweet ‘deal!

THE KING’S COURT AWAITS…

Imagine hearing the Bulls player introductions in October: “And at forward…from Akron…6”8”…LeBron James!!!!!”

How many championships could they potentially win? 5? 6? 10? Let’s hope John Paxson and Gar Forman have the same game that the Bears did in free agency, with exponentially bigger consequences. The fears about LeBron shrinking away from MJ’s shadow shouldn’t be a concern.
LeBron is confident enough to seek out any challenge. It’s like Joe DiMaggio following in Babe Ruth’s footsteps. Did it subtract from Joltin’ Joe’s legacy or popularity? Marilyn Monroe certainly didn’t think so. The fact that he was the next in line to deliver a dynasty only increased his pimp juice. LeBron with Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah easily coast past Rondo and the aging Celtics in a best of seven series. They beat the Magic handily, too, and any team in the West. Derrick Rose’s personality and talent make him the ideal sidekick. Joakim Noah is a proven winner whose energy and drive can’t be matched. If James truly wants to be King, he needs the rings. Chicago is the place that will provide them. It’s the only destination that guarantees LeBron James the opportunity to become the Greatest of All Time.

Pizza Pizzazz

I tried to make a video of me using my new Dahl.com Pizza Night in America pizza slicer. There were a few things working against me: 1) I got distracted after I cooked the pizza so by the time I got around to filming it was ice cold and rock hard making it difficult to slice 2) Slicing one handed while trying to film proved to be a challenge and 3) My background music was not timed correctly. You can enjoy the debacle here! Order your slicer at dahl.com.
