The Veal Deal

The Bears have signed Veal through 2013. That means I can man-stalk him for four more years. I hope I don’t tire of Jay by then. I don’t even want to think about living in a world where a Steve Dahl is tired of having a Jay Cutler on his football team. My fantasy team is 0-6 with Veal as its QB (I played Mark Sanchez during the bye week), but I still love Jay. FYI: I might have drafted too heavily in the direction of the Chicago Bears for my fantasy team. It’s too confusing to have an imaginary team and a real team. I also have Chad Ochocinco as a receiver on my imaginary team. What am I going to do to rationalize all of that, come Sunday? I am going to have to disband my team, or short of that, just play Wes Welker instead.
I have been trying to follow the Twittering between Ochocinco and Veal, but it’s too hard to sort through all of it. I have Stephanie keeping track of it for me. I thought I had a “Bears” group set up on TweetDeck to monitor Ochocinco, Veal, Lance Briggs, Devin Hester and Zach Zaidman, but I don’t think that I have it working correctly. Either that, or none of those guys has sent a Tweet today (and I highly doubt that). I think I might have even tried to trash talk a little bit to Ocho, but he’s not following me and I like to keep my trash talk private (direct Tweets). I watched ‘Hard Knocks’ on HBO with the Cincinnati Bengals this season, and that #85 really cracks me up. He has a career in comedy if he ever wants one.
Jay leno being on at 9:00 p.m. Central has really messed up weeknight TV for me. I keep thinking that it’s time to go to bed when I see Jay’s prosthetic jaw and then I get up there at an hour which seems a little too early for a guy who doesn’t need to get up until 8:00 a.m. I’m old, but not so old that I need 11 hours of sleep. My new plan for the winter is to get up every day and go workout at Lifetime Fitness at 8:30. I went there on Tuesday at that time and it was perfect. By that, I mean empty. I have given up the MILF patrol, that’s just another thing that I don’t need to think about. The people going to work leave the gym at 8:00 and the moms get there at 9:00, according to what I saw today. Maybe Wednesday will be more crowded. I will keep you posted.
