Channel Two Will Work For Food
I have an article in the Live section of Wednesday’s Chicago Tribune about my birthday, and birthdays in general. If you have a chance, check it out. You can read it online by clicking the link here on the dahl.com homepage. If you haven’t yet noticed a pattern, I have an article in the Tribune’s Live section every Wednesday. Next week I will be writing about Thanksgiving travel as I speed towards Hawaii on a United Airlines 777. I get a lot of good response to my pieces in the Tribune, and I am very thankful for the opportunity. I’m no Garrison Keillor or John Kass, but then I wouldn’t really want to be them, except at check cutting time.
I have started using my iPhone app called “Lose It” again. It’s a good way to keep track of calories in and out. It occurred to me this morning that my “50 by 50” weight loss program, although initially successful has ultimately only amounted to a loss of less than 20 pounds as I approach my double nickels birthday. Today I’ve had Raisin Bran, milk, orange juice and an apple. As I write this I realize that I could have skipped the OJ. My current calorie count for today stands at 612. At least I had what I believe to be a balanced breakfast. Tom Thayer says I should get up every day and have a big bowl of Raisin Bran. I want to be like Tom. We will talk Hawaii on Wednesday’s DahlCast.
You have to try and watch the Channel Two News at 10:00 one evening this week. Let me warn you that you will also want to TiVo a real newscast on either Channels 7 or 5 if you intend to have any idea about what is going on in the city. On Tuesday night Channel Two led with a story about some retailers not giving customers free gift boxes this holiday season. Some of the stores, like Old Navy have never given them away in the first place. How is that even remotely the most important story in Chicago? I’ll say it again: I am available to anchor the news at CBS Channel Two. I still work for CBS technically so I’m sure we could work something out. I’m fat, but I’m smart and funny.

Steve, good that you're
Steve, good that you're tracking your calories. I do too using Edibles, another iFone app. Tracks exercise and let's you bankroll those workout burns though the week. Keep to it. Enjoy the DahlCasts flying around the states. Thankful for them. RD
