Blackhawks History
I have just returned home from Monday night’s Blackhawks game. Boy, am I glad I didn’t leave after the Hawks were down 5 to 0 in the first period. I wanted to, but Mike Dahl and I stayed and had a couple of grilled chicken sandwiches as we watched the greatest comeback in Blackhawks history. I’m not speaking in hyperbole. It really was the biggest comeback in Blackhawks history and ties the NHL record. I don’t want to break bad on Cristobal Huet, but I hope that Niemi gets the next start in goal. I guess Joel Quenneville told the boys to pick up “the compete level” and that’s what they did. He must have said those words exactly, because I heard both Kane and Seabrook say that. I’m going to start saying that myself. Pick up the compete level!
Tuesday night I’ll be at Trader Vic’s for Chef Hans’ Tropical Oktoberfest. I saw Hans at the hockey game on Monday night and he introduced me to an electrician. He told me that if I need any electrical work done, then I should call this guy. Okay, Chef, whatever. Mike Dahl looked at me like I was crazy for saying okay, but I learned a long time ago its just easier to agree with Hans and then let him forget everything. I mean no disrespect to the electrician, but I don’t know the guy and I’m not going to ask him for free electrical work. Hans told me “The price is right!” but that seems awkward and embarrassing. Know what I mean? Hans is a goofball. Now watch, my power will go out.
<!--StartFragment-->I managed to get home from the hockey game without stopping at Taco Bell and I actually ate my Fresh Diet dinner. It’s not that I don’t love Taco Bell, but I can’t make it a habit after every hockey game. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’m very habitual. I had to get off of the expressway because I was driving Matt Dahl’s former Ford Escape Hybrid and he didn’t have a Tollway transponder (294). So I came down Wolf Road and that leads me right past my favorite Taco Bell. I called Janet to take her order but she didn’t bite. She’d already made herself a baked potato, and I guess I didn’t want to be the only person eating the Fourth Meal here at Casa Del Dahl. Maybe I’ll try again on Wednesday night.
